Laura Gettler is a Massachusetts-based oil painter whose work focuses on the natural landscape. As a studio artist, her paintings emerge from observations of the environment and begin with a single photograph. Through the process of interpreting the physical experience of the landscape and exploring the captured image, she allows the painting to evolve naturally, taking her to places she’d like to be.
